Might not be a bad idea to glance this over, (if the link works), for the information the post office provides....http://www.usps.com/receive/mailboxstandards.htm

If some reprobates vandalized my mailbox, I doubt I would replace it. 90%+ is junk mail anyway.

My inlaws live in Van Zandt county on a farm to market road. The state (or maybe it was the county) went around and replaced every mailbox on state-maintained highways with a standard rural mailbox on a street-sign like metal post like this (this isn't theirs but the post is identical to everything in the area - including the reflector). It has been knocked down a few times but they just call the constable and a new one gets put up the same day or next.

I do love the idea of armor plating the mail box.

Reminds me of something funny I saw the other day......on 183 in the Mid-Cities between Fort Worth and Dallas.....an honest to goodness United States Postal Service Police car.......I wish I had a picture.......Crown Victoria, all lights and decals/insignia.........
I wonder if they were following up on a postage due letter........

Maybe a mailman delivered a letter promptly and they were going to give him a speeding ticket.lonewolf wrote:Reminds me of something funny I saw the other day......on 183 in the Mid-Cities between Fort Worth and Dallas.....an honest to goodness United States Postal Service Police car.......I wish I had a picture.......Crown Victoria, all lights and decals/insignia.........

When in doubt
