The actual service delivery is the same no matter who is the REP so I tell people to shop by price, based on their use.

Did they not allow blankets?

How did they search for pocket knifes without a metal defector.

Blankets are allowed, but no lawn chairs. They saw my knife clipped to my pocket. I walked back out, put the knife deep in my pocket, and walked back in. I did have my ID and CHL in my hand in case I was stopped, but never needed it.

Hate to bring up an older post but the wife and I are headed to the Blake Shelton concert next weekend and I've thought about carrying. Anyone been recently to see if things have change since the poster above went in September?

I was at Gexa a few weeks ago for a concert. I did not carry into the concert because I knew I would be drinking but I did not see any 30.06 signs when I walked it. There were no metal detectors. Security was half-hazzardly looking into bags but not searching any people. I would definitely feel comfortable carrying there.

Carried my G26 in RCS Phantom last night to the concert. Just like everyone else said above, no 30.06, no metal detectors, just their employees looking through bags. I was a little worried when I got in and saw all the alcohol vendors so I looked around for the 51% sign but didn't see any. I guess most of their revenue is from ticket sales. We got there pretty early so parking wasn't to bad, leaving though was another story. Be prepared for waiting an hour or more to get back on I30, traffic is crazy getting out of that place.

Gexa is owned by the city of Dallas. Posting is not enforceable.

Beer and wine are served at Gexa Energy Pavilion. So no you can't bring a CH in. People are granted DHL for defense not offense so why do you want to take one in?

Firsrt off, welcome to the forum. :tiphat:

Just selling beer, wine or alcohol is does not make a location off limits for CHL carry. The location must make more than 51% of its revenue from the sale of alcohol for on-premise consumption. You can see if a location is legal for carry or not by looking it up here http://www.tabc.state.tx.us/PublicInquiry/Status.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and seeing if it says GUN SIGN BLUE or RED. If BLUE, then carry is OK (minus other restrictions), if RED, then you cannot carry.

Sorry, I am just now seeing this. They actually saw the bottom of my mag holster (OWB, my holster was IWB) and thought it was a pocket knife. The security guy (wearing a yellow t-shirt) asked me to return my pocket knife to my car, so I went to the back of the line, dropped everything in my cargo pocket, and went right through. I had my CHL in my hand, but really didn't want to cause a scene or get into a debate about the law with anyone. I just wanted to see the show.
