Re: R.O.T. Rally
I'll be there Thursday and carrying. I'll try to post if I see anything. Late night I'll be putting up the piece cause I'm going bar hopping. Not getting drunk but I'll be in places I know for a fact I can't carry in. I doubt the grounds will be off limits.
I'll try to ask on rotrally.com as they also have a forum.

Re: R.O.T. Rally
I went last year and there are a few places posted, then there are the bars but most of it is okay to carry. Just look close for 30.06 signs.

I think the Travis County Expo center is gov't property so it can't be posted 30.06I doubt the grounds will be off limits.

It can be posted and has been posted for other events. You just can't be successfully prosecuted for carrying there.ghostrider wrote: I think the Travis County Expo center is gov't property so it can't be posted 30.06
That event is crazy, especially at night on the expo grounds.

Re: R.O.T. Rally
I'm not going to be in Austin then so I guess it's a moot point, but what's ROT? Did they drop the C off ROTC?
I am not a lawyer, nor have I played one on TV, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, nor should anything I say be taken as legal advice. If it is important that any information be accurate, do not use me as the only source.

Re: R.O.T. Rally
Just saw a post on my Facebook that a friend of mine and a coworker is getting ready for R.O.T. so if any of you that are going and run across a retired Marine Gunny Sargent from Paris.... I would say give a kick in the pants, but after being on this board for awhile you guys and gals would probably do it.... so just say hello to him....

The last few years I know for sure there have been no 30.06 signs posted on the Expo grounds.Paul's Shield wrote:I'll be there Thursday and carrying. I'll try to post if I see anything. Carry away. Now....6th St establishments (depending 30.06/51%) another story.

Thanks for the reminder to be somewhere else.
sent to you from my safe space in the hill country
Re: R.O.T. Rally
Not everyone who goes to ROT is there to drink or be stupid. I can't go this year. But, in the pasttbrown wrote:Thanks for the reminder to be somewhere else.
we've just enjoyed the countryside rides available nearby, tried to hit as many BBQ places as possible, and
had fun watching the "parade" roll into town on Friday evening. Seeing all the different bikes
is interesting too. If you are into motorcycles, paint & body work and/or custom machines.
ROT rolls into, and out of town every year. Leaving a considerable amount of $$$ behind to local
merchants, restaurants and bars/clubs (not to mention the ROT charity cause).
Stay home and watch TV. Those biker type people are a scary bunch.

Re: R.O.T. Rally
we're heading into Round Rock tomorrow for something else. I am excited about the ROT rally being in town! we'll pull over before we get into town and drop the roof! I want to hear the bikes! My husband will be hitting the bike shops while I'm doing my thing.

Re: R.O.T. Rally
Was around the entire grounds and I did not see 30.06 or 51% signs. Carry away. If there are any they are not conspicuous.

Re: R.O.T. Rally
I saw where Austin got hit pretty hard by storms last night. For those going, watch the sky as much as you watch the bikes.
Wish I could have gone this year but having to work.
