Maybe a little hint of "entitlement" ?

If I pay for a course I expect to be taught that course. Not another related course. It is no entitlement mentality to expect to receive services paid for. Why shouldn't she be proud of her GPA...if that had been my GPA I might have stapled it to my forehead! A 4.0 shows great attention to detail and an ability to finish tasks in a timely and satisfactory manner. If I were a hiring manager, I would look on that at kindly.

I don't know, seems to me that if I pay for a specific class I'm entitled to receive what I paid for. If she was complaining that the course she signed up for was harder than advertised and she didn't like the GPA hit, someone call the waaah-mbulance. But if the material taught was not the material the department has set as the material for the course she enrolled in, and the standards she was held to were not the standards associated with that course, I think she has a case and should be compensated appropriately -- by which I mean she should be enrolled in the correct course at no additional cost, and the incorrect course should be removed from her records. She can then earn whatever grade she deserves on the course she paid to take.
This is what I was referring to.

Of course she should get class she paid for. My previous post about never hearing about tuition refunds is true - It may have happened, but I have never heard of a college giving a refund for a class that was taught. That doesn't mean that I think the students should pay for something they didn't receive. They would more likely give credit for the student to take another course.

If the girl showed up to the wrong class and didn't figure it out, shame on her. If the instructor taught the wrong material, shame on the instructor. The class should be removed from her transcript and she should be allowed to take the correct class at no charge. I also think there is something to be said for refunding her money to compensate her for the wasted time.

In my world this type of situation is known as and error or omission in providing a professional service. Usually such situations involve compensation to the one harmed for such error or omission.
