Stupid things politicians say

#1

Post by jmra »

Today on the House floor SJL stated that the Constitution is 400 years old. Of course we all remember her blunder about Armstrong planting the American flag on Mars in 1969.

How many other stupid statements can you recall from our leaders over the years. This should be fun.

Another one that comes to mind is the Senator from GA who was concerned that the island of Guam might capsize. :smilelol5:

When did Sheila Jackson Lee ever open her mouth that something stupid DIDN'T roll out?

There is not enough time or space to talk about all the stupid stuff "uncle joe" says, but....
he is at least as good a spokesman as the now long ago retired Iraqi Information Minister.

That wasn't a stupid statement, it was actually pretty smart, as it was a deliberate lie that diffused opposition and allowed the legislation to pass. It wouldn't have passed if he hadn't lied.

"When the president does it, that means that it is not illegal." It seems several of our more recent presidents have co-opted this attitude, but it was Nixon that said it.
