Cadence

Post by Pyron27 »

Anyone have any military cadence that is not mainstream? I would like to see it. I can hardly remember my own or the others that I heard that have never made into Hollywood.

JP171, I appreciate your response. I am trying to 'unearth' the 'lyrics' that can't be found online at the moment. Example: "Two good friends went out to play" and something about Ranger Rick and Yogi bear on a hill with Boo Boo taking the kill...And the guy that went to the market...Its not online as far as I know.

some of them you will never find as they are no longer allowed by the military and have been forgotten, others are just passed down and will not ever be posted or told out of unit. I do vaguely remember the one about ranger rick and yogi but not well as I haven't heard it in over 25 years. I do remember that the Yogi and Boo-boo is a sniper cadence

If I wasn't a gunner I wouldn't be here (bang)
Away from my wife and my sweetheart so dear (bang)

Used it as a cadence for firing salutes, it worked.
Real gun control, carrying 24/7/365

Redleg Running Song

Do your job now, do it right.
You'll go home, see Momma tonight.

Mess around, don't do your work.
Call you in, call you a jerk.

Artillery is the branch for me,
Other guys go infantry.

Grunts walk hard and they walk far,
In Artillery we ride by car.

Gunner, A.G., Number One,
All Cannoneers, we all like guns.

Close the breech and pull the string,
Man the '55 sure can sing,

[abbreviated profanity deleted] says first rounds look bad,
Check your sights, see what you had.

FDC will slip their sticks,
Two more rounds now, make it quick.

[abbreviated profanity deleted] says those rounds were close,
Six more rounds we'll drink a toast.

FDC sends a new QE,
Fire for effect with the Battery.

[abbreviated profanity deleted] says those rounds were fine,
Let's go home and drink some wine.

155 going down the range,
Red hot steel makes you feel strange.

Hit you high and hit you low,
Try to hide, ain't no where to go.

Here we go, all the way,
All the way, Redleg...
