I have a Canon Rebel too. I love the camera. I borrowed several different cameras such as Nikon D4, D800 and Canon Mark III from a photographer friend of mine but I came back to the Rebel.

Re: What Did Santa Bring You?
I am just learning the whole photography thing, but I am very pleased with the Canon, even the inexpensive lens that it came with. I am hoping to get some better glass, and maybe take a continuing education class on photography. So far some photos of my daughter (natural model) and sunsets have topped my expectations.
Now to learn PhotoShop...

I play with photoshop by no stretch have I learned it. What I have found is that many skilled with digital editing are willing to part with some of their secrets to show an newb how to use it. There are tutorials all over the web that have taught me how to do things in a fraction of the time I was spending in editing. The rest they say is the creativity to explore new ways to use the tool. Right now I'm fascinated with the dragan effect. Here's a sample of what I mean...

The most important gift was a quiet day with the love of my life.

Re: What Did Santa Bring You?
The biggest treat was to see a very happy 2 year old opening presents and wanting to open each one to play with. I got a few nice things, including a Nexus 7 tablet but I think my favorite gift this year was a photo scrap book I made for my wife "from" our daughter that had pictures of them from Christmas of last year to this Christmas. I might make that a yearly tradition.
I did splurge a bit on a gift for the family that I admit is mostly for myself. I am picking it up today actually and will post photos of it when I have it. :)

Re: What Did Santa Bring You?
Easy peasy: it's whatever the pistol was designed to use and originally sold with, anywhere outside of Commifornia or any of the other marxist states. For the Glock 19 for instance, that would be a 15 round magazine. I use "greater than normal" because it is difficult to define "high." To someone with a 100 round magazine for a Glock, a 33 round magazine is not particularly "high" capacity. And for someone with a belt-fed weapon, a 100 round magazine is not "high." This is one of the very few situation where the correct answer truly is situational.Maxwell wrote:TAM, I dare you to define "normal"...The Annoyed Man wrote:Evil normal cap mags, or evil greater than normal cap mags?Maxwell wrote:The most important gift was a quiet day with the love of my life.
