OK, lets say Zimmerman was within his rights under Florida law to defend himself with his gun. Then lets say either the special DA, or the grand jury no bills him or he is found not guilty in a trial (of the century). And maybe even found not guilty in a federal hate crime trial, moved to Washington DC cause everyone in Florida is racist.
To me all this anger and attention we are seeing, is going to go from Zimmerman, to his gun and if Florida didn't have this insane law to allow concealed carry, the president's son, Trayvon would be alive.
There is nothing insane about the law....the only insanity here is the leftist campaign to use this killing to advance their agenda.

The insane Florida law is the one that lets Miami kids use a shooting 250 miles away as an excuse to skip school without consequences.
Does anyone know how many shootings there were in Miami since Trayvon was killed?
I don't know about Miami, but if you follow the link I posted, it says 10 were killed in Chicago over the weekend, and 40 wounded. Where's the outrage?

Jesse Jackson is now on board. "Blacks are under attack" Apparently he means by other blacks, as over seventy were shot over St Patrick's day weekend in just New Orleans and Chicago alone.
It was the lead story on ABC's evening news. Lots of protests by everyone wearing a hoodie.
And the pictures of this kid keep getting younger and younger.

Family members said 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, of Miami, was visiting his father and soon-to-be stepmother last month at their home in a gated community in the Orlando suburb of Sanford. He had gone to a convenience store to buy some Skittles candy and was returning home when he was confronted by an armed man who was head of the local neighborhood watch, family member said.
The man hasn't been charged. His name was redacted along with Martin's name in an initial police report but he was identified as 28-year-old George Zimmerman in a police report released Thursday.
The report said Zimmerman initially called police to report a suspicious person in the neighborhood and minutes later 911 dispatchers received several calls of shots being fired in the neighborhood. Zimmerman told police officers that he had shot Martin and officers found a semiautomatic handgun on him. The report said that Zimmerman's back was wet and he was covered in grass as if he had been on the ground. He was bleeding from his nose and the back of the head, the report said.
There are still lots of details missing, I am surprised that the cops are calling it self defense since he is the one that initiated the contact. We shall see how it all pans out.
The link is no longer available. Apparently this is a tactic of newspapers. Now that the "story" has changed they block the link to the original story, so you can't get any facts that were reported before it was sensationalized.
There are frequent references to a "gated community" in this thread. There are two "gated communities" here in our Pineywoods hamlet; one is called the Skyview Unit and the other is called the "Hodges Unit".
There were eleven separate stories in the Chronicle today about the shooting. Al Green the Houston Representative has flown to Florida.
Zimmerman's attorney stated his client is not a racist. (he has an attorney) Always a good defense to begin by having to say things like that. He probably doesn't beat his wife either.

I think the tactic you are referring to is the question: "Have you stopped beating your wife?" And of course, only a Yes or No answer is allowed. The sort of thing that is almost impossible to defend against.

Al Green the Houston Representative of what? What's the holdup with Sheila Jackson Lee, why ain't she down there with the bruthas and the sistas? Don't she care?

Now that you mention it, I am surprised that leftist opportunist hasn't been screaming as loud as Sharpton or Jackson. It can only be a matter of time...
“Just because you see a black man wearing a hoodie does not mean that he’s a bank robber. It does not mean that he’s about to jack someone,” Deric Muhammad told KHOU. He is with the New Black Panther Party.

Funny. My bank has a sign that tells you to remove your hats, sunglasses, and hoodies. Clearly discriminatory.
I don't fear guns; I fear voters and politicians that fear guns.
This incident has been blown so far out of proportion that innocents or guilt mean nothing now. It is being used by politicians and others for publicity. I don’t know if Mr. Zimmerman is innocent or guilty but I am concerned that he could be arrested on trumped up charges to appease certain people. I also wonder if he could get a fair trial. It is unusual for the POTUS to comment on a case simply because the defendant’s lawyer can claim he/she cannot possibly get a fair trial.
If he is guilty of a crime he should receive the appropriate punishment but he should not be railroaded to appease public opinion.
God Bless America, and please hurry. When I was young I knew all the answers. When I got older I started to realize I just hadn’t quite understood the questions.-Me

I don't know of any case where the indictment was dismissed because the defendant could not get a fair trial. I know there have been many changes of venue, but if you know of any cases where the charges were dismissed and the defendant was not tried, I would be glad to read about them.
