BTW, check out Home Depot's ad for today, several appliance prices are wrong - THEY ARE TOO HIGH!!! I know, I changed the signs myself yesterday.

Re: Cheaper Than Dirt TYPO!!!!! and my stolen gun RECOVERED!
My job is Marketing Director for about 100 auto parts stores. One of the things I do is retail sale flyers. We send about 350,000 of them each time. 4 pages, 60-70 items. I don't think there has been a single issue that was error-free. We have had a few pricing errors over the years, a few that were major. Our policy is to explain to the customer that the price was an error, and offer the best possible price, usually our cost. If that is not accepted, we honor the sale price without further discussion, and thank them for their business. Yes, our flyers have the disclaimer about typos.
In a business like CTD, the manager may not have the final say. Corporate made the error, but the manager is held accountable for the profit margin of the store. He can't win.
BTW, last year Dick's Sporting Goods advertised Ruger 10/22s at $129.95, which was a typo. They sold them at that price. I got there too late, sold out. I think several on this forum bought one.
As for CTD's online and retail entities being different, I think they mostly got over that. I think they were keeping them separate for legal reasons, but maybe they got a new lawyer.
At any rate, they appear to be keeping the revenue streams separate, but they share the building, logos etc.
Oh yeah. I know that "yahoo" at CTD Ft Worth. I try to avoid him. Most of the rest of the guys are good people.

The Fort Worth store is more than just a separate legal entity. CTD sold the store to one of its former employers.....I believe it was the manager......and the store (I was just there 3 or 4 days ago) is now called "Cheaper than Dirt Outdoor Adventures," and the store employees are all wearing shirts with that logo on them now.Rex B wrote:My job is Marketing Director for about 100 auto parts stores.
