Anybody see this story? Thoughts?

I don't really feel the same on the reasoning. Focusing only on the family of the fallen is understandable, but would it not be more meaningful to these families to stand side-by-side with the men and women who gave all they had to save whoever they could? Who gave their own blood and tears and in some cases their lives for days on end to help the dying loved ones of these families? I think NYC is big enough to shut down as many blocks as neccessary, set up projection screens around blocks so people can still be there and see, do whatever it takes to fill that city to the max to accomodate everyone that can show up. This ain't some small deal, this is the 10 year anniversary, on the year that we completed our goal of finding who we vowed to find. This is a time for Everyone to celebrate, Together!!

It stated that the ceremony is for the victims families. Are they not victims of this?

I agree with first responder John Feal when he said that Bloomberg "lives in his own world".

This is pathetic :mad5

It was pretty crowded there on 9-11-2001 too, but that didn't bother the EMS workers on that day. I'm sure they'll be ok with a little crowding this year too.

Anyone who thinks it's OK to exclude the Men and Women that risked their lives to save the survivors on that day... Well, I don't know how anyone could think that so I don't know what to think of them.

The lastest report this morning is that Bloomberg is also barring the clergy from being there. The good news is that he will not be reelected because of this. New York mayors depend heavily on the union support of the police/fire/rescue unions to get elected. Stick a fork in him. He's done.

I sure hope they send Schumer with him.

That's horrible, kind of like telling twins that one of them can have a birthday party on their birthday, but the other wil have to wait till the next weekend.
we're working to find ways to recognize and honor first responders, and other groups, at different places and times," Brent said.
