Tomorrow will come and go like any other day. Part of me does wish something like that would happen but I secretly wish it was like the night of the comet when everyone turned to zombies and I would be left to get in a little target practice.

Matthew 24:36
"But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only."
We've seen these predictions before.
Folks, the best thing...is to simply always be prepared.

I was under the impression that the rapture is not a one day affair, and that it starts on a finite date and lasts for roughly 5 months.

That depends on if you're a premillennialist, postmillennialist, or amillennialist.Purplehood wrote:I was under the impression that the rapture is not a one day affair, and that it starts on a finite date and lasts for roughly 5 months.

I always found it strange that Christans were so sure of their beliefs but they really can't agree just what those beliefs are.

Kinda like gun rights advocates being so sure of their beliefs, but not being able to agree on what those beliefs are (as evidenced by numerous threads here)? Just sayin'...pcgizzmo wrote:Hoi Polloi wrote:That depends on if you're a premillennialist, postmillennialist, or amillennialist.Purplehood wrote:I was under the impression that the rapture is not a one day affair, and that it starts on a finite date and lasts for roughly 5 months.

Ummm... possibly. I'm reffering to things like -Hoi Polloi wrote:Kinda like gun rights advocates being so sure of their beliefs, but not being able to agree on what those beliefs are (as evidenced by numerous threads here)? Church of Christ doesn't believe in music and if your not baptized and die you aren't saved even though you believe.
Some believe you can fall from grace others don't
You have to confess your sins to the priest as a Catholic but not as a Baptist.
Many different versions of the Bible - Catholics have more books than protestants and the Ethiopian Bible has more books than Catholic.
All the different premillennialist, postmillennialist, or amillennialist versions
Then there's Calvinisim. That's a whole smorgasborg of confusion in and of itself.
Very confusing for someone that really researches Christianity and want's to make a choice on what denomination they should follow. You pick the wrong one and things could go badly. Personally I pick Baptist because once saved always saved. In fact I grew up Baptist. Dad was a deacon and mom still works as assistant secretary at the church.

Wouldn't it be a shock to wake up tomorrow and find all the humans still here but the dogs have gone to Heaven.

Re: May 21st... end of the world...
I sent them an email last week asking what happens if it's a no go.
They haven't yet responded.
Maybe they're too busy preparing.
I'll just take their cash off their hands.
No use for it where they are going.

Interesting, and I thought Christianity was belief in the virgin birth, death/resurrection, saved by grace; not whether you had a big pipe organ, waved incense around, burned candles, or had slight doctrine differences. I'm Baptist, but I also believe there are some Catholics, Methodists, Church of Christ etc. members who are true Christians regardless if their services, ceremonies, differ from mine. Last post on in area from me.... I don't want a mod warning about religious discussions etc. Everybody have a good weekend!pcgizzmo wrote:Ummm... possibly.
