Re: Psychology Project - in desperate need of help
Thanks for the interest, ya'll.
I still need more participants if possible, so if you haven't filled one out please let me know and I'll send you the Word document.
I would like to stress that your rating of my list does NOT reflect upon you as an individual and all participant's answers should be similar if not identical. The results will NOT be used in any data to support my hypothesis; these ratings will be used to create a survey to collect the data I need to support my hypothesis.

Those that haven't offered to help, please do. It will only take 10 minutes of your time, and helping someone with any kind of school assignment is always a good thing.

Indeed, I would appreciate more responses - I have eighteen as of now and could use at least two more.Baba Brad wrote:Those that haven't offered to help, please do. It will only take 10 minutes of your time, and helping someone with any kind of school assignment is always a good thing.
Thanks, all!

Re: Psychology Project - in desperate need of help
Thanks for your help, all!
I have been able to use the rankings you all provided to create an eleven-question agree/disagree survey with the following questions, their median rankings (taking into account the least variable interquartile ranges) in parentheses:
Any person striking another person is unacceptable. (1)
Animals should never be hit as a form of punishment. (2)
Men who hit women should see a counselor. (3)
A woman should never hit a man. (4)
Men should be aware of and control their physical strength. (5)
Yelling at another person is acceptable. (6)
Physical punishment should be used sparingly but can be an effective form of discipline. (7)
It's okay to hit another person if they deserve it. (8)
Some people deserve to be hurt. (9)
Using force to get your way is acceptable. (10)
It is okay to cause a person physical or mental pain to bring him or her under my control. (11)
The purpose of the above survey is to measure acceptance and exhibition of violent tendencies using a Thurstone Scale.
Thought some of you might have been curious as to where exactly your results were going, and now you know.
I'll post details of the results of this survey once I've collected my data. Unfortunately, no forum members can participate in this portion because of the risk of confounds. Thank you again to all who provided their rankings for my list!
