maybe I just need to design my own custom bags.

Bags for the man that doesn't want anyone to think or know he's carrying a bag.


Maybe netbooks will take off and there will be alot more cases for them.

There are a huge number of messenger bags available in all kinds of sizes and styles. But your initial inquiry ruled them out. If you don't want a messenger-type bag then you are likely to wind up with a regular laptop bag or briefcase. The "bags that are not purses for men" market segment is dominated by messenger bags.
