Free Houston-area drive-thru coronavirus testing to start Thursday
Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Chair of the Congressional Coronavirus Task Force, said free testing will begin Thursday, March 19. She's expected to hold a press conference around 10 a.m. urging residents to take advantage of the free testing.

Didn't we just today--and sanely--hear from the
real Coronavirus Task Force that people shouldn't run out and flood the new increased testing capability just because they sneezed at 9:21 a.m. last Tuesday?
...... that all 329 million Americans shouldn't run out and immediately overload the new testing system? ........
Lord, I saw that on the news free Coronavirus testing on Tidwell in Houston starts tomorrow.
They will be lining up shoulder to shoulder to get tested tomorrow morning. I can see the news footage now.
She jack will be there news crews everywhere people lined up for miles. It will be a sight, did I mention free.
It was an interesting morning. SJL had called a press conference at 10:00 a.m. onsite at the Tidwell parking lot testing site. Her good friend Mayor Turner and other cronies were there. She had announced the free drive-up testing would begin earlier...because she wanted a backdrop of her photo-op to be medical workers working and people in cars being tested.
Seems she forgot about the fact that all the logistics had to be in place before she could get her propaganda video going. The testing wasn't able to start before the press conference.
'Course, she was visibly furious and directly blamed President Trump for the fact that testing hadn't started before the news cameras did. As if it were his fault for not personally organizing
her testing stunt.
After the White House press conference, I saw some local footage of the Tidwell site showing cars lined up and waiting, stacked up literally for blocks. That's what SJL wanted us to see...despite the fact that it's stupidly inefficient and a completely unnecessary burden on our medical professionals. We'll no doubt see more video of the mess on the local 4:00 p.m. news.
Sheila Jackson Lee's plan: Have everyone and anyone who wants, line up in their cars for blocks and wait hours. There's no prescreening. Once you get to the head of the line, you pull up to tent #1 where you're questioned by medical personnel and your temperature taken. If they decide you're wasting everyone's time, said medical professionals' job is to then convince you to leave and drive back home.
Meanwhile...
Drive up free testing also began today in a Florida county, but this was organized by physician, not a career-political bag of hot air. The main difference? People used a dedicated number to call-in first, before they left their houses and drove to the site and formed a queue wrapping around several blocks. On the phone, a medical professional prescreened the callers. Those determined to be candidates for the test were given a reservation number and then drove to the testing site; hypochondriacs and those who merely sneezed one time yesterday were given instructions about either staying at home and waiting or contacting their own physicians.
In Florida they weren't interested in staging a news spectacle with horrendous lines of cars simply to point a finger at the White House and accuse it of delaying testing. In Florida, they were interested in testing people who probably really needed to be tested, and doing it in an efficient manner.
Yep. Sheila Jackson Lee really is just that transparent.
