Venture capitalist Tim Draper said he had gathered about 600,000 signatures on a petition to put his proposal to divide California on the November ballot, more than the 366,000 needed to qualify. It is his third attempt to get voters to weigh in on his call to break up the most populous U.S. state.

Can't wait to see the civil war that's going to erupt when they discuss how to split up the debt.

4 far-left Senators instead of 2. With a risk of 6.
I am not a lawyer. This is NOT legal advice.!

Exactly! I'd rather they secede.RoyGBiv wrote:4 far-left Senators instead of 2. With a risk of 6.

Cal (Los Angeles) will be far left.
Presumably Southern Cal will also be far left.
Northern Cal...Conservative or left? I think Conservative, but heck who knows...anyone here know?
Plus, what are the chances of this splitting up realistically happening?
P.S. On the Tucker C. show some pol in cal. suggested the homeless be allowed to live in people's back yards, there's more to it than that, but that's the gist of it. No kidding, I didn't make this up.

You think there is a chance Northern California would be conservative with San Francisco as its largest city?

Lets see... LA would be the capital of one state, San Fran the other, and probably keep Sacramento as the third... I see no way that this would benefit anybody other than the socialist. I too would rather see them leave.
In certain extreme situations, the law is inadequate. In order to shame its inadequacy, it is necessary to act outside the law to pursue a natural justice.

mojo84,
You sir, are correct. I overlooked that very pertinent fact.
Isn't Orange County overwhelmingly Conservative?
If so, is it the only one in the entire state? Or is Cal. much like many of our states with cities crammed with commies, but filled with rural communities that are vastly Conservative as say in New York? NYC is full blown commie, but the balance of the state is Conservative.
Of course, it's like that in Texas too, come to think of it. Austin...commie...just outside Austin Conservative and so to the rest of the states cities and rural areas. Commies like to gang up in cities, Conservatives like to breath fresh air.
So, back to Ca. Think all 3 Ca. states (if it comes to that) would all be commie providing 6 commie senators? Or does one of them have a chance of being Conservative?

Congress has to approve it and that won't happen for the reasons folks have already stated.

Each one of those would leave a reduced-size rural area dominated by a large, left-wing city. No thanks.

Re: California could split into 3 states
Yeah... no. They should secede instead, as others have stated. Their backwards policies will run them into the ground eventually. I'd rather they not take the rest of the country with them in the process.
