Ask for a progress report: "How's your project going?"
"It's going."

People who go out to dinner in shorts and flip flops. Not McDonald's. Texas Roadhouse.
Texas Roadhouse isn't exactly the paragon of fine dining....

"Hook 'em, Horns"!
This became especially annoying after the HMFIC decided to have the Confederate monuments removed under cover of darkness on a Sunday night.

Deci- means ten. Decimate means reduce by one tenth. Common usage has altered the definition in the dictionary, though. I pray they don't alter it further.

Flat bill baseball caps. You could put one on Tom Selleck and even he would look like a doofus.

Unconstitutional laws.
Mercenaries who enforce unconstitutional laws.
"living document"
"all y'all"
"fascist" when they really mean "not communist"
"social justice"
"family values" and "community values" as excuses to restrict 1A rights
"reasonable restrictions" on inalienable rights

God, grant me serenity to accept the things I can't change
Courage to change the things I can
And the firepower to make a difference.

'Income inequality' (a term I loath) is beloved by liberals and other socialist types who think if lumpen humans simply exist they should get not only a free lunch, but free everything. After all, they're human and they deserve free stuff for simply existing.
Didn't attend school?
Didn't learn a trade?
Have zero income making skills?
Not willing to work or sacrifice to get ahead in life?
Often late, never take responsibility for your crappy life circumstances, with whining complaints as in: "hey man, it's not my fault...ever".
Constantly argue about everything and thus if on the rare occasion happen to get a job you earn zero respect and are soon fired?
But, you want me to give my 'fair share' to support you so you may enjoy "income equality"?
Dream on snowflake - you're at least good for derisory laugh.

Re: Things and Sayings That Annoy!
If enough people used the word "dime" when the mean "dollar" for 50 years, it would end up in the dictionary also as common usage, but that would not mean that a dollar and dime would be the same thing. Being in a dictionary does not make it correct.imkopaka wrote:YESdave_in_austin wrote:The misuse of the word "decimate"

It irritates me when people say "countless" when they mean "many".
"He has won countess awards". No, you can count how many awards a person has won.
This one drives me nuts and it drives my wife nuts that I mention it every time I hear it.
I heard a local commercial for a doctor's office where they brag "we have countless consultation rooms". Wait, how many rooms are we talking about? 4 or 5? You certainly should be able to count how many consultation rooms you have at your clinic.

Maybe they are on a real time office sharing arrangement with the neighboring doctors office where the number of consultation rooms is continuously changing to meet demand?karder wrote:BBYC wrote:"fascist" when they really mean "not communist"

Re: Things and Sayings That Annoy!
A couple more:
The stigma associated with the word "ignorant". It's not an insult to say that someone is uneducated on a topic, but most folks will take great offense at being told that they are ignorant about something.
Stating things as facts without having near 100% certainty that they are true. Usually done by ignorant people.
