Hmm some people have short memories when it comes to bombing history.

How about a 22,000lb bomb from WW2

Of course the Grand Slam (Big brother of the earlier 12,000lb Tallboy) was a deep penetration bomb rather than a blast bomb. It was too big to fully fit into the bomb bay so they had to remove to bomb doors to carry it

This is a nice summary of the potential:

"1: Laser guided and parachuted down onto the Crossroads of The World, the MOAB would technically explode as an airburst weapon, albeit from six-feet and not thousands, like a nuclear bomb.

The fireball radius would be 300-feet, incinerating every person and obliterating Times Square's famous jumbotrons and billboards.

2: As the bomb ignites the alumimum dust and nearly 19,000 pounds of explosives a shock wave sucks the air from another 160-feet of prime Manhattan real estate and destroying Broadway. Concrete buildings are severely damaged and fatalities are also close to 100 percent here.

3: The dissapated air blast continues on for another 300-feet, damaging more residential buildings and causing injury to anyone caught up in the blast and more fatalities.

4: People up to 330-feet away from Ground Zero would suffer 3rd degree burns and some would suffer the loss of their limbs."

I'd love to see the full damage report, but of course, it's classified and such... :rules:

FAE Device, Fuel Air Explosion, the overpressure from these are horrendous, what they don't crush they incinerate!

Hmmm.........using a 2.5 million dollar bomb to kill 36 ISIS terrorists? That's $70,000 per terrorist.

How do you know how much it cost when the DoD doesn't even know?

If you look at it like that, then you definitely are not a dove hunter, just add together the expense of the dove hunt and convert it to price per pound of meat. :biggrinjester:

On one hand I see your point, on the other hand no US service member was shot, blown up or killed so I say money well spent. The message it sent to Kim in NK was worth more than the cost.
