I cant wait till President Trump ( I like that instead of President Elect) turns that saying around on those Libs/Democrats.................. Well, elections have consequences. And I won. Ha. January cant come soon enough.
Just some guy's opinion.
Re: FLAG burning being challenged by Trump
I find flag burning a terrible thing . There are many other ways to get a point across , flag burners seek to create disorder/violence . Seeing as we have a government that sponsors and provides the means for abortion I have flag burning on the back burner right now . Priority's , murder of innocents bothers me a lot .

They just need to arrest them for lighting a fire on a public street or sidewalk. I am sure most cities have ordinances on that.

Sure but what's the point? I used to think there was more to being a president than just continually stirring things up for attention. I used to think the president should be someone I respect intellectually. I used to think the president represented the core values of our country. "Wrong, wrong, wrong!" We are watching the old tv miniseries "Winds of War". In one scene, Capt Pug Henry played by Robert Mitchum is in a "7-minute meeting" with Hitler and others that lasts hours, with Hitler lecturing the whole time instead of considering a question the Americans came to ask. Hitler would never listen to anyone throughout the series including his generals. It seemed like his turning point and real downfall was developing an eastern front with Russia and not attacking England at the right time. Both mistakes were from not listening to his generals.
I'm not comparing Trump's motives with Hitler's but Trump's egomania, lack of consulting, and frequent useless ramblings are worrisome.

Re: FLAG burning being challenged by Trump
This can be taken too literally. The definition of speech (Merriam Webster) is; the communication or expression of thoughts in spoken words.parabelum wrote:I am somewhat leaning towards it being illegal.
Burning the flag of this Nation for which so many died is not speech. Rather, it is an physical act to provoke and incite violence.
Freedom of expression is not same as freedom of speech, to me.
I support free speech fully, as disgusting as it may be.
Flag burning is an physical act, and again, it has nothing to do with speech, to me.
To burn the flag you need more then a filthy Prog mouth.
I know...most will disagree with me, and that's ok.
Using that definition of speech, then the words I am typing here are not protected because I'm physically typing them, no words are being spoken. Offensive images are not spoken words, therefore not technically speech. You see where that could go.
I'm ok with people being charged with other offenses when they burn the flag. If it's someone else's flag, then theft and destruction of property, a personal flag burned on the sidewalk.............charge them with violations of city ordinances for their illegal fire (not too many flag burnings happening out in the country on private property). Heck, I would even be OK with it if someone punches the flag burner in the face, the police should arrest the flag burner for inciting the violence.
It is true that many have fought and died for our freedoms, and the flag is a SYMBOL of that freedom. But the act of being an idiot and burning the flag is one of the freedoms that the flag represents. I don't want to expand the government's ability to restrict individual liberty any more than they already have.

Dale Blanker,
Often times Presidents opine - nothing wrong with that, but many seem to want to shape what Trump has to say their way of saying it, whatever the subject.
Much like that wall flower (not) Obama, Trump says what he says, but it's not filled to the brim with leftist rhetoric and that really galls the great unwashed left. Too bad, he won.
As for Trump being an ego maniac, please advise, any President who wanted to be President that was a Casper Milktoast in the ego department?
They're ALL ego maniacs irrespective of party - A requirement to be President.

Maybe that was when they figured out that mortars work better for indirect fire?Abraham wrote:Just checked and that's what on there 11C10 Indir. Fire.
Perhaps, given that I went into my time in service in 67 and yours ended in 67 they added the 10 on the end of the MOS.
I guess G26ster and his crew lugged the tube around like a bazooka, and chucked the shell in really hard to make up for the lack of gravity assist.
Re: FLAG burning being challenged by Trump
Main thing is within the title of this thread. Trump is challenging Flag burning. He does not, nor will he, have the power to do anything about it other then to challenge it.
And all American Citizens should challenge burning of the American flag, unless they are commie supporters, prog slime.
Challenge the rape of your Nation, so your kids and grandkids may have the freedoms you enjoy.

Nah, we had gravity assist. Pic of me as a "yute" at the start of my first Korea tour (1963). Hey, where'd my squad go?KD5NRH wrote:

Near end of tour, I traded carrying the mortar for a nice jeep and a pair of binoculars as a forward observer.
