Yeah, but I have too many other conflicts with Johnson. Plus, he has much less of a chance than Trump.

I'm not sure what they could be. He's actually more conservative than The Donald in many areas. ....and they are now talking about allowing him into the debates, so his polling numbers are going up.

If anyone is sabotaging Trumps campaign at the moment, it is Trump himself. I will vote for Trump as of now due to SCOTUS appointments and my belief that Hillary is a criminal. However, if Trump keeps imploding, we may be saying a vote for Trump is a vote for Hillary as he may relegate the RNC to third party status.I would not have a problem voting for Johnson at that time as he is a stronger proponent for the 2A than Trump. Also, why do people feel the need to bringing Khan's father into the conversation as the evidence that he is a "sleeper" for the MBH is suspect at best. I also find it troubling that Trump is already making up an excuse for loosing the election as he is stating the election is rigged.

Here are a couple of reasons. There's nothing conservative about Johnson on issues that conservatives hold dear. Plus, I despise most of the LP Platform.

Libertarian presidential candidate and former governor of New Mexico Gary Johnson during a CNN town hall Wednesday night defended current gun control laws, saying he would not seek to roll them back should he be elected into office.

Johnson was joined by running mate Bill Weld, former governor of Massachusetts, and said he could support an assault weapons ban, but would not support outlawing semi-automatic rifles. http://www.guns.com/2016/06/23/is-johns ... -to-trump/

the abortion issue - I'll have to do some more looking. I saw an interview just last week in which he was saying it should be at the state level, which I am fine with.

I actually like the plan of sending most things back to the states.

This election needs to be able more than one or two issues.

And I really, really like his tax plan.

Mark it down.
Write it in stone.

There will be no third party candidate elected in the next 2 decades.

And, if you really think he's got a chance, look at this:
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls ... -5949.html
See that 12%? Looks an awful lot like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_St ... tion,_1992

Pretty sure someone mentioned this already.
He only serves to split the Republican vote. He's not a viable candidate in our system as it stands, or any third party for that matter, and I don't see that changing any time soon.

EDIT: I do think I exaggerate on my 2 decade prediction, but I think we are so engrained in the 2 party system that it's always going to come down to two. Whether that's republicans or democrats or whigs or federalist or pink flamingos, there will be two on top, substantially, for the foreseeable future. If nothing else, this election cycle proves it.

In all honesty, are any sources truly reliable these days? I look at everything, Huffpost, CNN, Fox, Breitbart, Daily Caller, Blaze, Guardian -- every single one at least spins their stories to their pleasure. Some more than others - and apparently some really badly!

Yes it does. Plus, I'm more than a little tired of Johnson supporters pretending that he and the LP would be good for the country. They would be as bad for America as Hillary, but just in a different way. Look at the entire LP Platform, not just the one or two parts you like. https://www.lp.org/platform

Third party candidates always seem to lack the funds to start a real campaign back when the major parties start running for the primaries. Then when they finally do get going it is too late for them to gather enough votes to do anything but screw up the major party candidates. If they ever want a real chance they need to start hard from the beginning and work to build up their base for the long term. Until they do they will never make a real difference.

do some looking around, he's not only getting votes from the Republicans, he's getting them from the angry Bernie voters.

there are a lot of people who aren't happy with either of the 2 parties. They seem to figure that if they take enough votes away from the parties this election maybe the parties will "wake up"....I don't know if that will work.
Others just can't vote for either of the main candidates. Then there are those who can't vote for anyone running....they're stuck.

Just reading through this thread, et al, reinforces my glee with having lived this long. I feel kinda' sorry for the young folk who have not much for which to look forward.
