What is on your To Be Read pile?

Currently, I am reading Gavin De Becker's Gift of Fear. I read it a very long time ago and find it more relative now than ever.

In my TBR pile:

Fear Less by Gavin De Becker
The Gentle Art of Verbal Self Defense by Suzette Elgin
If you carry a gun, people call you paranoid. Nonsense! If you carry a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about?

Gibbons "History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire." a re-read from a long, long time ago.

Just finished "Coolidge" by Amity Schlaes and "Innocents Abroad" by Mark Twain, both multiple re-reads.
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

Just finished reading "Sense and Sensibility" this afternoon, which meant that dinner was salads instead of stir fry because I should have put down my book to make dinner half an hour before. I'll probably wind up making my way through the Austen collection (it happens every year or two; I can't resist). I'm waiting for a friend to finish her draft of the final novel in her trilogy so I can read it. She's not published yet, but if the publishers have any sense she will be. And I'm also waiting for the next Diana Gabaldon "Outlander" book. Otherwise I'm trying to stay away from fiction because I have terrible self control when it comes to books and nothing gets done when I get into a good book.

For non-fiction, I'm working through "The Well-Trained Mind." I want to finish the entire thing, but with a particular focus on getting the elementary years sorted out.

Just finished "Robot Apocalypse". Good fiction book.

Going to pick-up "Tesla: A Man Out of Time" next.

Then I'm going back to re-read "Ender's Game" before the movie comes out. It's been most of 10 years since I read it last.

An excellent book. Wasn't too crazy about his others, but G,G,& S is extremely illuminating.
