Asking for a friend...
he has a couple old assault convictions on his record from over ten years ago. He doesn't know if they are considered misdemeanor or felony charges. Would he be disqualified from obtaining his LTC now?
BTW... He is in the Security business now and has passed background checks to obtain his Texas Security Installer license through DPS. Because of this, I would assume he would be okay to get his LTC but then again, I'm not sure since the convictions are for assualt...

Re: Assault Conviction Disqualification??????
It will depend upon the designation of the offenses. If either are felonies, then he is disqualified. If they are misdemeanors and are not "family violence" convictions, then they would not be disqualifying.
