Change of Address question...

Not sure where to post this, figured I would ask here.

I just submitted my change of address through the CHL website, paid my 14 dollars. So, what's next? Do they issue me a new CHL? If so, can i still carry ion my CHL that I have now with my previous address? How long does it take to receive a new license in the mail?

It really doesn't take that long, I filed mine a while ago. I want to say it was in the mailbox in 14-21 calendar days. You should be good until you get your new license.

Your license is still good, no matter how long it takes for the new one to arrive.

Good to know, thanks everyone. Was't really worried about getting my new CHL in a rush, more worried about whether i was good to carry with my DL and my CHL not having matching addresses. Good to know I will be fine. Thanks everyone.

I'm not trying to hijack this thread. I went to the Texas DPS web site to learn about the change of address option. What is the the "Texas.gov" price? Is it an option, or, is it mandatory?

Thanks

That's the small convenience fee for paying online vs sending it regular mail.

Why is the fee so large ?
Why do they ask for employer information ?

Driver License change fee is $11

Thanks to this thread for reminding me to change mine

When I changed my address, I saw the fee, then saw the Texas.gov fee below it. I originally believed that the renewal fee and the Texas.gov fee would be added together, and then i would be charged the sum. I was mistaken. The texas.gov fee is the original fee, plus the convenience fee, which is only 2 and change, and the Texas.gov fee listed is already the sum total to be charged, not the additional fee to be added later. My change of address total, with the veteran discount was 14.83 total. It was somewhere in the 12.00 range for the change and a 2 dollar or online fee.

To answer my own original question. My CHL with my new address arrived today in my mailbox. So, submitted change of address on the 9th of March, received my new CHL on the 14th of March. % days total including a weekend. I am very pleasantly surprised and extremely impressed.

So, how many are % days exactly? Anywhere close to a Brazilian? (that's a G.W. Bush joke)
