Delays In Receiving New THL

#1

Post by tbogart »

Renewed "CHL/THL" via internet and received confirmation that DPS would try and use current picture and prints. Was also informed that they would contact me if anything else was needed. My credit card was credited and have since received no further communication. This was more than 8 weeks ago. Is anyone else having these kinds of delays? Is there a number to call to check on status. I have gone to DPS web page and can find no information.

Good luck getting through on that number. They rarely ever answer. I feel your pain though. I submitted a change of address almost exactly a month ago and still haven't got my new card.

I just renewed mine online this month and it only took about 2 1/2 weeks to get plastic. I don't know if I was just lucky or if it had something to do with the fact that I have had my license for 20 years now continuously. Also, I spent decades in the general aviation business working in the secure areas of airports and frequently had to renew finger prints and background checks because of that. I also spent 10 years doing Police Citizens on Patrol in my city and went through finger printing and background checks there. My, oh, my, the file on me must be pretty thick!!

That's strange. I did online change of address the first of the year for both DL and CHL. Got my CHL back before my DL. I want to say it took a little more than a week.

Thanks! I didn't expect it so soon, since my old card doesn't expire until July.

I haven't hit a renewal yet so can't speak to that, but my experience with a change of address is the same. CHL got to me well before my DL. Was around a week for the CHL and like 3 weeks for the DL.
