Dallas — Okay, folks – listen up! If you’re planning to head to Dallas City Hall this week, you can expect tighter security.

On Tuesday, all visitors must access the building at two ground-level entrances. The entrances are located on the north side, near the Plaza; and on the east side by Ervay Street.

City top brass say visitors will now be required to pass through security screening in the lobby areas. So, here’s what you can’t bring to City Hall: aersol containers, knives, firearms, tasers and fashion chains.

Just something to keep in mind, as the City of Dallas works to make safety first.

So, the question are, are there any courtrooms at city hall and when does the city council meet? Not that I'm going there anytime soon, but it might good to know.

Someone needs to try entry with a CHL to see if they are harassed or ejected. The requirement possibly means the general public without CHL.

Sorry, I posts to an older thread - maybe an admin can combine them?

The new FAQ never even mentions CHL. Despite the law being clear that CHL holders can't be prohibited from City Hall with concealed handguns - only from the actual council meetings, as they have always been via the security screening at the entrance to chambers.

I don't have any business there this week, and the first week they will have all other kinds of problems, but if they try to part CHL, then we need to fight this. The law is very clear.
