Re: Carry on the Texas State Railroad
I don't know any law that prohibits CHL on a train and a state park is government property even if a company operates concessions.
Re: Carry on the Texas State Railroad
The railroad itself is actually privately owned. However, not sure if it is posted 30.06 though.

The railroad line is privately owned, or the equipment? Can you legally post a 30-06 sign on a vehicle? Does a vehicle qualify as a building under 30-06?Keith B wrote:The railroad itself is actually privately owned. However, not sure if it is posted 30.06 though.

30.06 is for property, not just building. The train could be posted legally.brhalltx wrote:The railroad line is privately owned, or the equipment? Can you legally post a 30-06 sign on a vehicle? Re: Carry on the Texas State Railroad
All of it, grounds, buildings, track, equipment is privately owned.
Wife and I stayed at the Rusk park for a few days last month, took the train from Rusk to Palestine and back. Had a great time.
Spent a few $$ more for the all adult car. Car had it's own steward, free sodas and coffee, snacks. Great people and service. Took our own lunch as they give you over a half hour break while they turn the train around for the return trip. They do provide sandwitch service if prior arrangements are made, and paid for. You do not have anyplace to buy a lunch, make the reservation or bring your own.
Saw NO signs, 30.06 or other.
Entire operation part of a 'group' that owns and operates a similar train operation in North Carolina named Great Smokey Mountain Railroad.
If you plan to go in a few days early, plan to stay at the Rusk RV camp. Lots of well maintained spaces, well shaded. Not much available at the Palestine end.

If the 2nd admendment only applies to muskets and muzzle-loaders, then the 1st admentment must apply only to the spoken or printed word. Printing must be done on hand presses, news stories must be written in longhand, no keyboards or electric processes may be used.
