Had my 1st day carrying... Two words: TEXAS and AUGUST...
It was my first day to carry today. I did a pretty good job concealing and feeling fairly comfortable. However, the record heat was felt to a greater extent than it was without the gun. Maybe it was psychological.
Any tips regarding dealing with the heat and sweat?
I am ordering a Kholster, which, based on my research, should make it much easier to deal with our favorite climate due to the design and materials.
What is your opinion about the Kholster designs? Any advice on adjustments of Kholsters to make it easier during the hot months?
Thanks.

The only thing I can recommend is to just get used to it.
And make sure to clean and function check your pistol periodically.

Kholsters= Kydex?
Kydex with leather backing are great but you will sweat if you are outside or in your car. Nothing you can do about that it's Texas. An under shirt will help keep any metal away from the skin but your going to sweat. Kydex are great. I adjust the cant angle so that the butt of the hangun is a little higher(on an angle) as many do. You can't tell the difference between the Glock 20sf or 27. You just can't see it. It is comfortable and just make sure you follow the manufacturers guide to proper care of leather or horsehide. Other then that just make sure if you sweat on your handgun to dry it off and give it a little gun spray or lube so it doesn't rust up.

Under Armour fitted (not compression) moisture wicking shirts have become my best friend in this weather. I use them as undershirts and they add virtually no bulk, keep me cool, and keep the gun away from my bare skin. I was never much for undershirts when wearing Polos or the like, but now can't go without them. I wear them under regular T-shirts now, too.
I use a Comp Tac Minotaur, which is a similar hybrid holster to the Kholster you're ordering. This has become my favorite IWB hands down -- comfortable against the body and for me feels like a much faster draw than the all-leather holster I used to use.

Now you see why so many pocket carry in the summer! I do both but I know several who don't carry on their hip from April to October. Most of the cc holders I know locally pocket carry in the summer months. This forum is the exception, we’re a little bit more devote in general to are full size and compacts. My father in-law has 2-3 times as many handguns as me and only about 3-4 ever get carried because he only does truck and pocket carry.

horsehide helps keep the sweat away from your weapon as well.
but as others, just get used to it and wipe the gun when you unholster it at home in the evening

I wear a OWB holster only the handle of my full size Glock touches my side. I sometime wear a white t-shirt tucked in under my loose concealment shirt .
This works for me on those humid days. I really dont have a problem with it. You will have to try arrangement that work best for you.

I find OWB to be most comfortable in the summer months and during the few days of winter too. For IWB carry I prefer a hybrid style holster and a tee shirt between me and the holster.

My typical routine is a T shirt underneath with a Hawaiian shirt on top for either IWB or OWB. Plus, as an old fart Dad in my fancy Hawaiian I'm styling!

For my S&W 686+ I use a Simply Rugged pancake IWB. I noticed as the weather started to get really hot that my sweat was soaking the grip that touches my appendix area. So I rigged up a shield that is a barrier between the grip and my body out of a flexible plastic 3-ring binder. I cut so it is just a bit bigger than the gun grips and has smooth flowing curves. I swear it has worked wonders and I never even know it's there. Once it cools back down I can just unmount out from the holsters IWB straps and use it without, though I may just leave it.
Otherwise, I just carry my J-frame S&W OWB in a El Paso Saddlery holster while wearing a slightly longer shirt.

Beware the Hawaiian shirt mafia!
previously I've worn an ultra carry IWB between a Tshirt and a button down dress shirt. Even a dress shirt with proper patterns is excellent cover (although hard to get to actual pistol).

The Kholster design is great for Texas - keeps body gunk off pistol since no part touches the body. I have the Crescent and Small Moon. I treated the skin contact side leather with mink oil to help sweat proof ( must be retreated over time). Remora clip-less holster work well, too IF you get the Full Sweat Shield version - I have the 4ART-FS and 5ART-FS. Still, on days like today, I wipe the pistol down with a silicone cloth - considering it's been in a sauna most of the day - albeit NOT in contact with the body. Both Kholster and Remora reasonably priced and well constructed to boot makes for a good buy. I wear Tee as undershirt along with un-tucked over shirt. The best is OWB if you can get away with it using a minimal belt holster - slide, yaqui, or mini style - depends on size of your carry and body build. The Cross Breeds and others of a like design do not give full gun coverage which I prefer - and rather expensive - or if that's your cup of tea give http://aliengearholsters.com/index.php/home" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; a try and save money.

Also, it is pretty important to make sure you do not leave you gun in a leather holster after you take the rig off.

haha yeah the heat is why I love my pocket gun paired with shorts. It gets sweaty, but I check and clean it every Sunday so its all good. Keep it clean, oiled and it will be just fine.
