Police are searching for six men who entered a West Dallas home Friday morning, beat up a family and shot the father before fleeing.
Gabriel Guel, 37, was listed in critical condition at Parkland Memorial Hospital but was expected to survive, Dallas police said. His wife was listed in serious condition. Their eldest son was taken to Children’s Medical Center Dallas with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
Police said the armed men kicked in the door of a home in the 2500 block of Kenesaw Drive about 3:30 a.m. The intruders rounded up the couple and their three children, ages 8 to 16.
The men searched the house, found some money and demanded more, Dallas police Senior Cpl. Donna Hernandez said. The home invaders pistol-whipped everyone but the youngest child, then took the father into another room where he was shot twice.
A motive in the attack was unclear, police said. “Right now we don’t know, but it looks like they specifically targeted this family, Senior Cpl. Hernandez said.
Police said at least two suspects were armed with handguns, and one had an assault rifle similar to an AK-47. One suspect was described as a 27-year-old man with gold teeth and wearing a red jersey and blue jeans. A second suspect was described as a 25-year-old man wearing a black shirt and a hairnet and baseball cap.
They were believed to have fled in an older model gray or silver Lincoln.
Residents in the neighborhood said the street was usually quiet and peaceful. Trinidad Balderer, 52, lives nearby and said the family members were nice neighbors who had frequent visitors.

It just angers me when I read this. After hearing about it, I just loaded up my last 4 mags with hollow points.

Berate me if you wish but stories like this one reinforce my theory that even if you comply you are still going to get it. While this might not be the case all the time it just seems that way.
Man shoot - Hear about it all the time. It still shouldn’t have happened.
Woman beaten - Really sucks specially since I dont believe in hitting women.
Child Beaten - Unspeakable. I'll never understand what would make a grown man(and I use that term loosely here) hit and child. I know they said they left the youngest one alone but did they really. I mean he had to sit there and watch all that happen to his family.

That’s if they dont get off on some stupid technicality that a lawyer finds that's just looking to make a buck.casselthief wrote: I'd rather justice than revenge.

Soon someone will be able to post the obligatory "Ah HA!" post that may clear up a few things...
Something extremely wrong in the direction these home invasions are going...
But then again the criminal element in this country is either getting smarter, or dumber...
I'm actually voting for the criminal element knowing that this type of crime can get them killed...More often than not...I know I will not be shedding tears...

this very scenario happened to me a year ago.
dudes struggled kicked and shot at us trying to get in.
you think I don't KNOW that had they gotten in, the girls woulda been harmed, and we (the men) woulda been killed.
I just know it in my bones, these guys were way too quick to elevate from home invasion/robbery to attempted murder.
we did not placate the BeeGee's, and therefore left with our possesions, and our health. I just think criminals (on drugs in my case) saw an oppurtunity, and jumped. Lucky for us my quick reflexes, strength, and mental stability held them off long enough for my bro to help literally shut these guys out.
it does happen, and I don't give "them" credit enough to believe they are in fear of harm going into a situation like this. I think they are counting on the "sheep" letting them in once someone sees a gun.
not me.
one had an assault rifle similar to an AK-47.
They couldn't even avoid giving the assault rifle a little more bad publicity while talking about this. These guys are lucky they didn't do this to my house because it wouldn't have been near as much fun for them with me shooting them as they came in.

That's easy! They are in your home illegally, and heavily armed. Justification is met. You grab your own rifle/shotgun variant, and start "cleaning house".dihappy wrote:dang, thats rough!
What do you do at 330am when 3 guys brk in with handguns and and AK? Sheesh!

The details they have released are remarkable!
A 27 year old...A 25 year old...An "assault rifle" similar to an AK-47???
I'd be good to get it in the 25-30 year old range, and say it was an SKS...
BTW, Cassell...
I do understand what you went through and by no means would I intend to belittle or insult your situtation...

Drugs or not, there are some evil people out there. Always remember that criminals don't necessarily think like you do, and they do NOT value anyone's life.
