school buildings/grounds

Hello all,
I understand that we can not carry on a premise that has a school event occurring, but what about on a weekend? For example, a private sports team is facilitating a practice event in a local school gym on a Sunday. Do the same prohibitions apply?

Thanks.

Inside a school gym would be off limits at all times (without written permission) based on PC 46.03(a)(1)

:iagree:

I'm frequently at the local ISD swim center.
It's off limits ALWAYS because it's school "Premises"

Just a reminder:
TX PC 46.035
(3) “Premises” means a building or a portion of a building. The term does not include any public or private driveway, street, sidewalk or walkway, parking lot, parking garage, or other parking area

DD... If you ever need a fast answer to a question like this, lots of info can be referenced back to the CHL-16 document that was the basis for your training class..

Downloadable/Searchable (PDF) version is here: http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/InternetFo ... CHL-16.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

On second thought, unless you're a lawyer, it might be easier to ask here

Welcome to the forum.!

the red part is incorrect, you may not carry on school premisis nor at a school property location where a school event is taking place. also you may not carry into the room that a school is having graduation or the homecomming dance. but they cannot make the entire hotel or convention center off limits

OFF LIMITS (based on 46.03)
  • ANY school "premises" (i.e. "building) at ALL TIMES
  • ANY other school "property" IF a school-sponsored activity is taking place
  • within 1,000 feet of ANY school property WITHOUT a CHL issued by same state (Federal law)

unless the above is your own home or business or property under your control
