Hey everyone, just recently received my CHL, and now carry everyday. Had a question if anyone had been to Gilleys in Dallas on Lamar, do they have a 51% or 30.06 sign? Couldn't find anything on Texas3006.com.

Thanks guys!

Gun Side : RED
therefore 51% and you cannot carry there legally.

checked here: http://www.tabc.state.tx.us/PublicInquiry/Status.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and put Gilley in the name, Lamar as the street and Dallas as the city.

In this case, it isn't the fault of the business. They are a bar.

Fair enough. Not fault of theirs.

Regardless of "fault" it a good reason to go elsewhere.

It's probably a good idea to avoid exposure to night air, strong drink and wild women as much as possible anyway. Too much can leave you white haired, emaciated and addled, perhaps suffering the onset of whatzizname's disease, and more besides.

A good rule of thumb is: if you consider it to be a bar, you can't carry.

Another rule of thumb: If you're going to drink, you shouldn't be carrying anyway.

That reminds me of the rich old man who passed on.

His heirs expected a big payday until the lawyer read the will:

"I, John Smith, being of sound mind, spent most of my money on wine, women, and song.
The rest I wasted."

You mean, if you are going to drink you can't carry. Stupid way to loose your CHL...

Technically, drinking is ok, but intoxication is not. That is where it gets tricky. There is no definition for what intoxication means. It may be the same as driving, but it is not defined in the law. A court will need to define it. I sure as heck do not want to be the one to have to find out!
