Troubling walk down memory lane
As a Moderator here, a CHL Instructor, Personal Defence Instructor my heart & prioritiy has always been for the new shooter, new to carry, the learner.
(You have to be pretty old to remember when Packin . org was the board of recognition.)
Six yrs ago +/- a little we had a member w/ yrs of carry, shooting, & defence experience. SHARP. Only problem was everything seemed to be his way or the hiway.
There were some complaints.
But, during that time there is no doubt in my mind that SEVERAL members that were new to shooting, CHL, carry, & in general learning who never complained openly. They just quietly dropped out of the discussions & did not return to the board.
I/we will never know exactly who or how many.
To all new members, shooters, CHL licensees, new learners in any area of arms or defence:
You are extreemly important to Charles & every Mod on this board.
You are nuggets of Gold to me personally.
You are my heart & the biggest reason I am a Moderator on this board.
Never allow yourself to be discouraged by an occasional "Nay Sayer".
Stay focused on the vast majority of encouragers on this board.
Know that you are important to us
& that you are to me personally.

Great reminder LT.
We have a wonderful membership base here on the forum. We have a great number of REAL experts that regularly post. They range from active and former LEO's to lawyers to just regular folks who have been around a long time and have a lot of experience and moxie when it comes to firearms and concealed carry. Stick with us and you will quickly learn who they are and what you can rely on for accuracy. It doesn't take long for a topic to be brought on target by those members that are solid on their knowledge if someone posts something incorrect or misleading. Just don't settle for the first answer or viewpoint unless you know the source as reliable.

LT, thanks for the reminder. To all you new folks, I am The ANNOYED Man. If you ever find me to be The ANNOYING Man, PM me and we will talk. If I can't convince you that you're wrong, I'll eat my hat.

I was one of those members. I ended up deleting hundreds of posts until KeithB PM'd me and asked what was going on. After a couple of emails he convinced me to stick around the forum. I am glad I did. Thanks KeithBlongtooth wrote:As a Moderator here, a CHL Instructor, Personal Defence Instructor my heart & prioritiy has always been for the new shooter, new to carry, the learner.

I'd like to add another perspective. I won't mention any names, but there have been a few members of the forum who, initially I had strong disagreements with. After several duelling posts, sometimes we PMd each other and worked out our issues and eventually became friends.

Me too, and that was what I was really getting at. So often, we can solve conflict if we just talk "quietly" to one another.WildBill wrote:I'd like to add another perspective. PM's don't count. LT,
Thanks for the reminder. I hope I never give offense to other members nor dissuade anyone from posting. I am aware that my strongly felt opinions may not be in line with a lot of people, but if I'm ever out of line please let me know.

Seriously though, I didn't mean to derail the thread.
