Free CHL Training Class in Trophy Club

#1

Post by BritOnTour »

I did not know this was available until after I took my paid training class! :mad5

The town has electronic notice boards as you wait at the traffic lights to join the 114 highway. Yesterday I saw a notice that said CHL classes signup available. Check website. So when I got to work I checked the trophy club website to find that the Police Department is offering free training to Trophy Club residents!

I think someone posted about that on this forum maybe a couple of years ago. I go that way once in a while (headed to Cabelas from Grapevine), but I've never noticed any such sign.

You wouldn't see them unless you exited at Trophy Club or Trophy Lake Dr. Here's a google map street view of one.

Do you remember when they started building "bypasses" around little towns on the highway, so the folks wouldn't get slowed down on the super highways? Well, Trophy Club was built that way in the first place - all of the town is on the north side of SH 114. There's a lot in that little town you never see from the highway!

I had one of the officers from Trophy Club in my class, but didn't really get to meet him. Should have introduced myself though; might have paid of one day when I am scooting across 114 to get over to Cabela's and they are out running speed enforcement. Trophy Club and Southlake PD's are VERY active in that area on 114.

Problem is - the speed limit changes several times on HWY 114 through that area, and for no real reason. Thats the gotcha!

Guess they gotta pay for those "free" CHL classes somehow!
