For you guys that work in a office that has a no guns policy what do you do? Do you just put it in your car and the holster as you are leaving?

I wear my holster all day, no policy against the holster. Makes the transition easier.

I am responsible for the office in my city. Two statements. Concealed means out of sight out of mind. Don't ask don't tell.

Beyond those parameters even I with all my seniority could be fired.

Locked up & secured in vehicle. I like a clip on a holster instead of loops to very quickly re-arm when I get off work.

What do you use to lock it up? Right now I leave mine in the console. I was trying to think of some way to disguise it, in case my vehicle gets broken in to, maybe in a first aid box or a tissue box? Something thieves wouldn't look in if they did break in. Anyone have ideas?

The really hard part is when I ride my motorcycle, the saddle bags lock but it is a very cheap plastic lock so I really don't feel good about leaving my gun in there.

You could purchase a "min-vault" and attached it to the inside of one of your saddlebags. You can get one for less than $50 and it is discreet. Even if they broke into your bags, they would have to do more work to try and steal it.

Fortunately for me I work in a area of our facility where I don't have to worry about car burglars. I simply store my weapon in the console of my truck in its holster.

Personally I would feel nervous using my console, even in my own driveway. The locks on most makes of car glove boxes do not instill much confidence in me either. I have been using a pacsafe bag for about 2 years now and it works well for me. The cable you wrap around something steel is fairly thick and the whole bag is what they call slashproof metal mesh lined. It is a little tight if you use a larger iwb holster, but will fit most. I also like that it is lightweight and compressible for travel use in hotels or friend or family's vehicle.

Violating company policy may get you fired, but is not likely to result in legal issues/criminal charges. You alone have to weight risk/consequences in making a decision regarding carrying concealed. If concealed really is concealed, the risk may be very low but the consequences could still be quite high (again, I don't know your specific situation). If you feel compelled due to company policy to leave your sidearm in your vehicle, please do lock it up securely. There are lock-boxes like the Nano Vault that are inexpensive and easy to use/install. Higher-end, you might see if there is a Console Vault that fits your vehicle.

I keep my holster on but store my pistol in the center console at work. If i do need to securely store it i have a small safe bolted to the floor board in my trunk. At work my car is parked about 20ft from my desk outside a service bay always visible so I don't have a problem with breakins.

Just speaking in general terms, unless you are working at a facility where Texas law prohibits you carrying, I would suggest just carrying and keeping it concealed. As long as you conceal well, there is no reason anyone should know. You can conceal quite deeply with many of these new .380 and even 9mm weapons if you really are concerned about being discreet. If you ever have to draw it at work, getting fired won't be your biggest concern.

I leave mine at home; I park inside the secured gate of an "off limits" location.

It's not posted so I obey the law. Officially I don't know about policy because my boss keeps me too busy to read HR policy manuals.

Although I haven't seen an HR manual in a dog's age, I am sure that my employer bans guns.
I carry my PT111 in my right front pocket in an Uncle Mike's pocket holster when working + 1 extra 10 round mag.
I'd be fired if I ever had to use it, but it's easier to find a new job than to re-animate myself after being 86'd.

A new wrinkle for me is that one of my co-workers has just finished his CHL class, sent in the paperwork, and
will probably carry at work also. He's got some model of Glock 9MM and a .357 revolver (make/brand unknown).
He feels that the Glock is too big to carry and is considering moving to something like a pocket .380 or Glock 26.
I'm advising him to forget about smaller caliber weapons and just make the Glock work. He's familar with it
and shoots it well. Why mess with success?

As long as my new CHL peer can keep our CHL's on the QT, everything will stay fine. I've been carrying at work
since 3 days after Obama took office, and no one has been the wiser.

Should I get back to "office work", I'd probably have to downsize to an LCP or similar due to clothing/concealment issues.
