CHL Record?

#1

Post by n1nthw9rd »

Just got my license in the mail. In record time.

I took the CHL class on 6/24 and submitted my paper application in the mail on 6/25.

Just got my license today 7/30.

That seems really quick compared to some of the numbers I was lookin at on wait time.

Im only 22 though, so i guess my background check didnt take very long...

Off to do my wally-walk here in the next couple days.

I took the class with Charles Cotton at PSC on 4 June, got my digital finger prints on 14 June in Pearland. Mailed on 14 June, and received the license on 30 July 2011. Not a record, but glad to get it.

I had a husband and wife in one of my more recent classes....

She received hers in 22 days... him in 27. Both mailed their apps the same day. I think anything less than a month is "blazing fast".

...I think if you don't have any 'issues' - ie; your record is clean, it's a fast turnaround.

If you have one or more prior arrests, served in the military, etc... where there's additional stuff to lookup and verify - it's going to take longer.

Most of the feedback I am getting from students is about 30 days or so. I think the rush of 2008/2009 has passed somewhat and the DPS has streamlined operations.
