This is a discussion from VA police about how they respond to "man with a gun" calls. I thought it was kind of interesting (but long). It is Virginia, not Texas, but I think a lot of the key elements translate. Virginia does allow open-carry, so keep that in mind.

informative,,,maybe some local jurisdictions could do the same,because it is amazing how many LEO do not know the laws in this area
