A change happening in March?

#1

Post by Concho Mike »

I'm wating on some paperwork from out of state so I can send my application in and of course they're dragging feet. Anyhow I remeber the instructor saying a change was coming in March and I think it had something to do with the fingerprint card. Anyone know what it is and if its the end or beginning of March?

After March ink fingerprints will no longer be accepted. Need to be L1 FAST electronic fingerprints. I'm honestly not sure about ink fingerprints taken before March 1 but turned in with app after March 1.

According to DPS, ink rolled fingerprints will not be accepted if the application or materials are not postmarked by February 28th.

That being said, maybe you can send in the materials you have now and send the other documents when you receive them. I would call DPS and ask them what they want you to do.

Justin - can you point me to where you got that info? I have been looking for some confirmation on the DPS website that they are still going forward with the March 1 deadline. Everything I find about fingerprints still says they are accepting inked prints, and no deadline mentioned for that. The only mention I have seen of it is from the Oct, 2010 instructor newsletter.

I'm sure I remember seeing it elsewhere, but I can't find it. I spent about twenty minutes looking without success. I tried calling DPS and it appears they are extremely busy as I keep getting a busy signal.
