Your instructor didn't explain this to you?

When you did the online application, you had the chance to print out a checklist.
You should've sent in everything on the checklist.

Ok.
Here is what I would do.
Go back online at DPS site.
Check your status by logging in.
Use your TX dl#, DOB and SS# to login.
This should give you your status if it has been a month
If you applied online you will send in:
1. Two Photos and photo holder (you can print this out at the site)
*No photos need to be signed only sign where indicated on the photo holder
2. CHL-100 you received from the instructor.
3. One set of fingerprints if you received them from the instructor.
*If instructor did not do the prints then you need to schedule with L1 (FAST)
and they will send them electronically.
4. Since you applied online they will be no need for the notary
Get going you should be fine.
If you have issues ask your instructor or PM me.
Good luck.

I applied online, took my class and sent everything on the checklist to Texas CHL on November 1st. It will be 60 days this week.
I was concerned because my online status states that it will be updated when the materials are received. I emailed the CHL department and they replied that the online status has been down for a while.
Don't know what my next step should be. Not overly anxious for the license but concerned that nothing has been received.
Any suggestions?

Don't know why sometimes longer than others. If they said status is down online
then call them. They can and have looked it up real time in the past.
They are very helpful.
They do however seem to be very fluid.
Good luck.

I've tried to call many times. When I dial the CHL dept at 800-224-5744 the phone rings once and then gives a busy signal. It's been like this for over a week.
I emailed them and they just replied that the online status is down and would not give me a status even after asking for my TDL number.
I even called the DPS direct at 512-424-2000 and after being transferred to the CHL dept I got the same one ring and busy signal.
Frustrating.

So, overall, how long did the whole process take?
