Yes
Ft Worth Zoo is posted with a 30.06 at the main entrance. I contacted the Ft Worth Zoo, and their opinion was that since schools sometimes have educational classes there, then the Ft Worth Zoo is to be considered a "school" . I forwarded this information to the TSRA, but, at least up until this point, the TSRA hasn't been interested in this issue.
Re: Yes
Isn't the zoo owned by the city making the signage moot? Also, if it were a "school" the sign would not be needed....waffenmacht wrote:Ft Worth Zoo is posted with a 30.06 at the main entrance. Using the zoo's logic, the malls and all fast food restaurants would be schools too.

Good point...anygunanywhere wrote:Using the zoo's logic, the malls and all fast food restaurants would be schools too.
I recall a discussion on the Houston Zoo a while back...Somehow it was determined that any signage didn't restrict CHL holders...
But then again, I have not been, nor needed to go to the Houston Zoo in a long while...
The zoo I frequent these days starts and ends right outside my front door...Depends on what side I stand on...
ohhh, thats good...I need to right that one down...

I am planning a trip to the Ft. Worth Zoo in the next couple of months, so this thread caught my attention. After reading here I did a search on yahoo and found this:
http://www.aubreyturner.org/index.php?/ ... worth_zoo/
This is taken directly from the link above: The biggest confusion came from a simple question: “Does the city of Ft. Worth own the zoo? The short answer is that while the city owns the land and the buildings, the zoo association leases it from the city and (according to their lawyer’s legal opinion) has the authority to post a 30.06 sign. This seems like an annoying loophole in the new law, but I suppose as a private entity holding claim to the land that the association is within its rights.
So I guess my question is is the Ft. Worth Zoo leagally posted if they have a 30.06 sign posted at the main entrance?
