Made twice in the same week!
I have been made twice this week already. I'm on a roll here!
The first time was at church this past Sunday. It actually started about 3 weeks ago. A friend of mine went to grab my attention and say hi as I was walking by so he put his hand right on my side. Totally hit the butt of my BT 380. Didnt say a word or act surprised. Either he had no clue or knew exactly what it was since he himself is a gunny. My guess is he kinda knew because the next week, same thing. Again, he didnt say anything. And finally this past Sunday, once more. This time he said, "Whats that? Protection?" I tried to play it off saying, "stop touching my love handles" but I knew I had been made.
Then last night we were at a good friends house. I know he has seen the belt clips from my holster on my belt before and even mentioned them but he had no clue what they were (He's from NJ, cut him some slack ). So I just left it at that. Well last night we were sitting on his couch and I had to get up to go check on the kids. Well my shirt had ridden up while on the couch so I had to pull it back down as I made my way to the stairs. When I got home I told my DW that I think I flashed everyone when we were there but I didnt think he noticed. She said, "Yeah, and it took you a while to pull your shirt down too!" DW said that she doesnt think he noticed but that his wife shot the classic eye brows up, chin down, look like I just saw a ghost look.
Both are good friends so I'm not worried to much about it. Any my gunny friend wants to go shooting with me now so I think its all good.
I guess Im getting to relaxed with carrying and might need to get a little more up tight about it again.

I think I'd be worried as to why he continually keeps touching you so intimately.

That was the only thing I got from the whole post. Men shouldn't be touching other men except in these situations:Munk wrote:I think I'd be worried as to why he continually keeps touching you so intimately.
Shaking hands
High fiving
Punching
Arm wrestling (not body wrestling)
Tackling
Taking a snap
Setting a screen
Taking a charge
Checking against the boards
I'm sure there's a few others but the list is short.

NO! The knuckle bump is the worst thing ever 'created' in the history of mankind. It must be stopped. It is not cool. It is not socially acceptable.Purplehood wrote: Bumping knuckles
I have a boss who does it and I just stand there with my hand out waiting for him to shake it. It makes it uncomfortable for him, which I love. I REFUSE to "fist bump" with anyone.
(I'm laughing at my reaction...but I do truly hate the fist bump)

Re: Made twice in the same week!
You can tell something about someone by their handshake. Some people have crushing shakes, some have wimpy shakes. We need the same information to be available from the "bump". Therefore, I am implementing the "fist sock". It's actually a right cross, terminated at the other persons knuckles! Try it and watch the surprise and pain in the face of your victim (I mean, friend).

Yes, I carry a compact 1911 purt' near everywhere I go and I've never been "made" because the necessary steps; e.g., clothing, contact, arm cover and direction, etc. are taken so that I am not "made". Did I mention that I don't mention that I may be carryin'?Keith B wrote:Yes, back on topic please
Why? Because it's no one's business other than Mrs. Oldgringo's and mine whether I'm carryin' or not. No one else needs to know until it's time for them to know.

Re: Made twice in the same week!
Do not be ashamed, last Sat, when I came back from shooting match at DPC, I stopped by a friend of mine a luxury used car dealer/owner to say Hello. I was in Camo shorts and dark green t-shirt and my concalemed is just an unbuttoned Khaki shirt.. My buddy, said, Hey, you look like you just came from camping in the wild, and I said nope, I just came back from the range, and I . He was like and he repeated and wanted to know if I was packing. Man he could notice that I was carrying P30 in OWB Black Hawk Serpa. When insisted to know, I just knocked on the Polymer to my strong side to confirm.
He was again like

RiverRa:
Your OP was amusing to a degree, but if you've
been made twice in a week by friends, maybe
just maybe
you need to consider longer concealment shirts
because if you are made by a LEO at Burger King
the outcome might not be so amusing.
Remember what the C in CHL is for, friend.
Just looking out for your best interests. Carry on. :-)

Re: Made twice in the same week!
if one has issues with concealment, smart carry, or belly band or fanny pack could be an option.
