If the Stars are a professional sports team, that alone will make carry (into the stadium) no-go. Shouldn't affect leaving your gun(s) in the car, but do you want to risk having it(them) stolen from the parking lot?

The Dalllas Stars are in the NHL, a professional sports team, so you cannot carry. :txflag:

These are professional sporting events and should be taught as off limits in your CHL classes.

Additionally, it might be worth noting to the OP that the AA Center is always posted no matter what is going on there. Even if it was a Pecan Pie cook off that would not normally be off limits to CHL, the AA enter is posted 30.06.

And it should be noted that the Center is owned by the City of Dallas, making the 30.06 ineffective.

But you're good to go at the Pecan Pie Cookoff, unless the City Council decides to have a meeting at the AA center at the same time.

Yet, they always seem to have metal detectors and people with wands at the entrances, even during non-sporting events like concerts.

Yup and the following is from their website:

Prohibited Items

For safety reasons, patrons may be refused entry if they are in possession of prohibited items including, but not limited to: alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, food, drinks, glass/plastic/metal containers, video recorders, audio recorders, fireworks, laser pointers, backpacks, coolers, knives over 5 inches in length, weapons of any type, baby seats or carriers, unauthorized noise makers, glitter, confetti, Frisbees, streamers, helium balloons, beach balls, parcels or packages, inflatables, or large bags of any kind. Cameras with lenses that are 4 or more inches in length are not allowed except for Dallas Stars games. The guest must throw the prohibited item in the trash or return the item to their vehicle. American Airlines Center reserves the right to confiscate any prohibited items and/or escort the guest from the building.

I had season tickets to the Stars last season and never saw a 30.06 anywhere in the AAC. However, they do have metal detectors and wands and, as it is a professional sporting event, I never went armed. My car did get broken into one night while I was at the game. :mad5

I have observed this as well. I guess if you were able to sneak your weapon through (other than to a professional or school sporting event), you would not be able to be criminally charged if later discovered.
