Shooting at Harvard dorm

Of course, this can't be true because, as we all know, universities are Gun Free Zones.

This is interesting. I went to Harvard, and know exactly which "basements" they're talking about. Underneath each of the dorms is a network of connecting underground pathways....there are some computer labs, laundry areas, and other storage areas. It sounds as if some BGs were lying in wait for a student to rob, and shot this guy instead. Although it puzzles me that anyone could get into the underground area in the first place, because they are very serious about security at Harvard...at least they were 10 years ago. GO CRIMSON!!!!!!! :cheers2:

A man shot outside an entrance to a Harvard University dormitory has died.

Twenty-one-year-old Justin Cosby, a Salem State College student who is from Cambridge, died early Tuesday at a Boston hospital.

Cosby was shot Monday in the abdomen outside Kirkland House, an undergraduate dorm.

Harvard says the shooting appeared to be isolated. The victim's mother, Denise Cosby, tells The Boston Globe she doesn't know why her son was at Harvard.

No arrests have been made. Cambridge police are looking for several people they believe were involved.

Follow-up: The man who was shot was allegedly a drug dealer, and the suspects reportedly knew that he would be carrying a large amount of money and drugs.

A woman Harvard honors student who has two degrees of separation from one of the suspects has been barred from being on campus and attending graduation. She is the friend of the girlfriend of one of the suspects. She has not been accused of any offense or named as a person of interest.

One man has been indicted for this crime.

A 20-year-old from New York, who could not legally acquire or possess a handgun there, used one to commit a crime on a college campus in Massachusetts, where he could not legally possess a handgun. Does someone want to try to explain what further law would have prevented this crime? Bueller? Anyone?

Well, maybe if they made a duplicate set of laws against
1. murder
2. handgun ownership by [fill-in-the-blank] type of folks and
3. handgun possession on campus.

You know, the BGs may overlook the first set of laws against that type of stuff, but I bet if you had TWO sets of laws against this stuff, that'd really get some attention from the BG's. :banghead: :headscratch

Reminds me of Dennis Miller's rant on O'Reilly re: middle eastern terrorists: "Yeah, everything I've seen from these people tells me they're rational people. I think they'd listen if we'd just sit down and talk with them. [/sarcasm]"

Interesting that they are only trying Blayn Jiggetts. I wonder if Jabrai Jordan Copney and Jason Aquino will be state witnesses and testify against him.

Am I the only one amused at the fact that his last name is "Jiggetts"?

But he was such a nice young man. He was turning his life around.
He was on campus, selling drugs, and was killed by another man who was not a student either.

Gun Free Zone. Yea, right, no problem eh?

THIS is the reason our students need campus carry, and the right to protect themselves at school.
