Grady's BBQ on fredericksburg rd in San Antonio had a 51% posted inside the building in a place that most poeple would never look. It's up near the ceilling under a over hang where you pick up your tray. It can not be seen from the front door, I don't know how long the sign has been there but I've been in there carrying about 10 times before I ever noticed the sign. I also don't believe that this place is truly a 51% business... just thought I would let ya'll know to keep an eye out for those signs at Grady's

(I will post this on Texas3006 also)

Very interesting. There is a long-time CHL instructor/police officer in San Antonio that conducts his monthly classes at the Grady's on Bandera Rd, and has done so for years. Like you, I can't imagine a Grady's really breaks the 51% mark...

Hmmm, I took his class - there was an unlicensed sign but that was it (at the Bandera Rd Grady's)

Perhaps the restaurant's management should be approached and asked about the sign. It could be an honest mistake, since I hardly believe that a BBQ joint is reporting to the TABC that it makes 51% of its income from alcohol sales.

If the sign remains displayed, it would be good to ask the TABC to investigate:

Is the 51% on the sign blue or red?? I think there are some blue ones out there that mean it is NOT a 51% establishment.

The current "Blue" sign for places serving alcoholic beverages states that the "unlicensed" possesion of firearms is prohibited, and has no "51%" text on it. The "Red" sign does have the "51%" text on it, and means no CHL carry at all.

I may be mistaken, but think there was actually a blue 51% sign at one time also. Maybe srothstein can answer that.

As far as TABC is concerned, there was never a blue sign with any 51 on it. I have heard of some hospitals that posted signs with blue 51's based on the law requiring them to post with the same wording without the 51. They obviously did not get it right, but I have heard of it.

Maybe that is what I was remembering folks talking about. Thanks for the clarification Steve!!
