How Often Do You Carry?

#1

Post by ezypikns »

That might sound like a silly question, but many of us don't want to take a chance on losing our jobs by defying our employers rules regarding concealed carry. Naturally that leaves us with some choices to make. I typically have a firearm handy in my car, which usually goes into a pocket before I go into a store or get out to pump gas. If we intend to obey the law, there are also other places we can't legally carry (bars, city municipal buildings, any place correctly "signed". How do you deal with these inconveniences?

exactly like you said, I keep it in the car. You could choose to carry pepper spray, knife or other defensive means to protect yourself when going to places where you can't carry.

I have it made. I own the business so carry on the job is not an issue. With few exceptions (30.06 places, etc) I'm always armed. I usually carry my LCP in a Desantis EZ Rider but do use a pocket holdet with cargo pants/shorts for deep cover. My spouse and I went to a concert last week. They searched her purse but never even looked at me.

If I could I would carry 24-7. The hospital I work at is posted 30.06 so when I go to work it stays at home. There have been vehicle break-ins in the garage and I don't want to take a chance on my pistol getting stolen. If I am not working, I am carrying.

As often as I can. I carry at work or keep my piece handy in my desk. I think they know I carry, but it's kind of a 'don't ask, don't tell' situation.

The other day I walked out of a restaurant just as I was getting ready to order when I noticed their 51% sign. I'd carried in there before and never noticed the sign. Concealed is exactly that, however I'm not willing to risk losing my license. I went and ate elsewhere.

24-7 if legal. Like a few above, the buck stops here.
Problem is the buck is at the church & the preacher is usually there by himself.

So some others that stop there looking for the buck include meth heads & panhandlers that occasionally have reminded the preacher, how many times they have been in prison for assault. :banghead:

Most of the time it is the Good Guys that just need a little help.

24-7 or guess right. :tiphat:

Whenever and wherever legal. Only exceptions are in the shower and when I am sleeping, even then ther is one close by.

I carry 24/7. Work isnt posted, and there is some verbage in the employee handbook that reads

"XXXX prohibits the possession of firearms on company property. XXXX requests that all firearms be left outside the facility."

Nothing about termination, etc. etc. So I don't give it a second thought.

Remember, city buildings are not off-limits and cannot be made off-limits with a 30.06 sign, except in very limited situations. A municipal court is off-limits, as are meetings of governmental entities but only when a 30.06 sign is posted.

I carry when I am outside the house, and remove it when I enter the building where I work. My employee website specifically prohibits workplace/premises carry, and I really, really like my job.

As soon as i'm going to leave the house, the gun goes on. In the house it is always near and ready. Only time I do not carry is if I am off out for 2 many (according to my wife) beers!
