Background Check on Renewals?

I just called to check my renewal status and was told that the background check by the F.B.I. was still being run. Do they do the complete background check on renewals too?

Ya notice they only require one fingerprint card instead of two for renewals? That blue-lined card goes to the FBI.

But that ain't to say the fibbies are the only ones doing a background check either.

Is it required that you send all previously submitted info, or just new stuff between the last license issued and the time of renewal?

Previously submitted info. on page 3 of (manual) original application is not required again. But, sign-off is required on the same 3 affidavits related to eligibility and release of records.
