Code, regardless of whether the handfun is concealed, at any meeting of a governmental entity. Question?? Community water board business meetings. Republican Party business Meetings. Hey, Hey, The yearly business meeting of "My Local Gun & Shooting Club". All these & others are governing bodies for sure, so are they "governing entities" as stated in the above. During "any meeting of a governmental entity" yes.

I attended a public Townhall meeting in North Richland Hills a few months ago with U. S. Rep. Burgess. It was held in the city council chambers on a Saturday.

I felt that is/was probably permissable to carry, but I didn't because I was't sure.

Any opinions or comments?

There are certain requirements that must be met to constitute a meeting. Public notice, an agenda, a quorum, minutes recorded, etc. Your city council sitting down to lunch at a neighborhood restaurant, or gathering for beer and football, does not create a "meeting". (Well... such gathering are quite often "illegal meetings", but that's a different matter.)

Trainman's "town hall" was probably not a legal meeting.

So that means these places are not off limits to carry. They must be 30-06 posted to exclude. Thanks gentlemen.

When I have time to research the law, or should one of our more learned members feel moved to post, I'd like to get into the definitions of "governmental entity" and "meeting".

I'm fairly confident that when the City of Nash blocks off the street in front of City Hall for the Nash VFD to hold a fish fry (like we do every year, and it's dayumm good fish!), that's not a "meeting". I'm a little fuzzy on whether the VFD is a "governmental entity".

Here's another twist... it's pretty well known that it's perfectly legal to carry in the state capitol, and recorded legislative intent is clear that CHLs shouldn't be barred. But is carrying into the capitol, and watching the Legislature in session, meet the "governmental entity" requirement?

This is something I'll have to come back to, since I have 5 hours until wakeup, then I'll have to drive 6 hours to pick up my sons and return home, then work 4-midnight.

46.035(i) Subsections (b)(4), (b)(5), (b)(6), and (c) do not apply if the actor
was not given effective notice under Section 30.06.

So unless you are give notice under 30.06, (c) doesn't apply. I believe when the legislature is in session the chambers are posted with 30.06 signs.
