I see the population as moving more towards an individual rights theory. Even some of the former big anti's have said that this is what the 2A means. If we can get the SCOTUS to rule that way, it is the first step.

And it is our legal history that we will eventually force people to obey all of the amendments. We can sue for most violations of civil rights. If exercising your 2A rights gets recognized by the courts, then the current US code rules on depriving a person of civil rights under color of law apply. That starts the process when we sure the governments. We have seen that done and won in New Orleans now.

It will be a long slow fight, but the process is hard to stop now that that big pendulum ball has started swinging in our direction.
