Times Square is not posted and the owner said in a news story earlier this year that he welcomed concealed carry in his theater. This is an independently owned Mom&Pop theater and has earned my business with low ticket prices, low concession prices, and clean facilities. This is by far, the best theater in Tyler...and I can carry there.

Thanks for the info and like I said I usually go there anyway because the other one seems like its over run with teenagers hanging out in the lobby plus Times Square is cheaper

The Carmike in Longview took down 30.06 and posted 30.07 only. Glad they now allow CC since the only other theater in town posted both signs.

I carried at Buffalo Wild Wings last night. I'm not sure what they are intending with their sign.chasfm11 wrote:Sometimes, the executives of an organization, who are in one State, assume that the gun laws in all the States where they do business are the same. I had researched the sign on Buffalo Wild Wings and found it consistent with their home State laws.jimlongley wrote:Except this is not an open carry state, and the sign does not refer to open carry but specifically to concealed carry.nightmare69 wrote:People are not happy about this either...

Yeah ok, the sign is supposed to ban open carry only.Williams says on Monday, the Carmike headquarters told him that the signs were meant to keep guns out of theaters in open carry states, where patrons had reported feeling uncomfortable.
The Internet shows Carmike Cinema as headquartered in Columbus, GA. According Opencarry.org, you may open carry in GA with a permit. Wikipedia says the same. Perhaps that is the source of the problem in TX.

If you really intend to not patronize true Carmike why don't you open carry in there once just to experiment and see what happens since there is no 30.07 sign.mac_attack wrote:Thanks for posting. We normally go to the Time Square Cinema anyway. Now we don't have to decide between the two as Carmike will no longer be an option for my family.
I am also writing them a letter to them to let them know we will not be returning.
The worse thing that will happen is they'll ask you to leave and give you verbal notification. Since you won't be going there anymore anyway it won't make you any difference and it might give the rest of us some insight.
