Please keep posting updates. It's nice to see CHL'ers being proactive. I wonder how many times Taco Cabana has fought this battle.

Interesting that corporate Taco Cabana wants NO guns on its properties. The TC in Garland has the "unlicensed possession of a weapon........is illegal" sign by the door, not a 30.06 or a no weapons sign.

Maybe it depends on the manager?

What's funny to me (before I knew about TC's atrocious practice), I had a conversation with a very nice Lewisville LEO late one night in a TC.
we were both armed to the gills.

ah, it's the small things in life.....

I think kauboy hit the nail pretty good on the head. I'm wondering what happened to "JUST DON"T EAT TACO CABANA, end of story." Is everyone that hard up for their food? What happen to take your money elsewhere? Just didn't see you as a laurate.

Part 2. reading to deep between the line again. :headscratch

I was unarmed at a TC late at night in college station (they have armed SO deputies there) and I got in a convo about 30.06 with him.

I asked him if he would bust anyone for carring there since the sign wasn't compliant, and he laughed and said heck no....that would be stupid.

FWIW,

Yet again, you take offense to something not meant to offend.
Geez, get over yourself. I was pointing out that your letter is not what we normally see spew forth from your posts. If you want to take offense to that, be my guest.

And you were once a cop. I hope your fuse wasn't as short then.

There you go judging again. I ask a simple question based on exactly what you wrote. I never said I was offended, and how do you get my fuse is short? I hope you don't have that much trouble reading everyone you deal with. However, you must be in great shape with all of the exercise you get jumping to conclusions, flying off at the handle, etc.

Boy, I'm glad you stepped in here!!! I was getting worried that this thread was getting more about us, and not the business in question, that for years has been pushing the line of restricting us with questionable signage that to us doesn't appear to be compliant with the law, yet their intent is actually pretty clear...

I sometimes have weaknesses for their food from time to time, yet I always get a bit unsettled afterwards...So I don't go as often as I did before they started this policy...

And for some reason (from years of debate and conversation on this particular issue) I believe we kinda thought it might be best to let sleeping dogs lie, and not give them the chance to hear from our small community about their policy and how much it gets our bowels in an uproar...Pardon the pun...

But whats done is done...And they now have renewed attention given to their corporate policy...I believe the coorespondence to the corporate mouthpieces has been very well thought out, presented and mature in its intent...Obviously, they'll continue their policy, and it'll be up to us to either accept it or move on...

I just hope they never make available on their menu again the Chicken Papusa's with the chipotle pineapple salsa ever again...Like I said, I have weaknesses...

Stevie, I feel your pain.

But to tell you the truth, I have chowed down on Taco Cabana once.

You probably already are familiar, but may I suggest the pollo marisco at Gringo's in Texas City at Mall of the Mainland?

Just don't eat where we are not welcome. That is their intent.

Plano and Forest, right? The first time I went there it was with guys from my office and I looked for the sign because even if I am not carrying I don't like doing business with places that post 30.06, and I saw the "Unlicensed" sign and was gratified.

So now we have at least one example of a TC that is not posted in accordance with company policy. Does someone want to report them to corporate?

I was considering a letter to corporate gently pointing out that the "Unlicensed" sign allows CHLs to carry in their business, making them more money, where 30.06 signs make CHLs leave in disgust and tell their friends how nasty TC is.

Of course since they have already made their decision based on how unsafe CHL holders are (it figures for a Syracuse NY based company) it would probably have no effect at all.
