I also grew up in the Springs (28 years). Colorado, on the whole, can be a little liberal. True, there is a lot of military presence there, but I don't think that affects how people look at things gun related. I can see a jury awarding money like that in a civil case (although wrong IMO), but I can also see a jury in the County of Smith, Texas, doing the same thing. All you have to do is get the right jury mix.
