Not much of a plan.
If I am not at home.My wife is scared of guns. She is aware of where the loaded stashes are in the home and how to take the safety off, but the willingness to use it must also be there which I doubt. She will be more worried about the damage to the decor. If she could get one of them to stand in a bathtub so the blood is contained to the drain maybe.
If I am at home she is to run for closet and barricade herself in and call police. We keep a cell phone in this closet. I take a defensive position using bed for cover and watch bedroom door. I'm not going to try and clear the house, its safer to let them walk into me. We do have a alarm system but have no faith in the alarm company, its only to alert us to action. We will be making the call to the police and hanging on the line.
When going about everyday business I carry. Cannot carry at work, so I have a plan for hiding, calling 911 and not drawing attention, besides since they have rules against carrying I've no responsiblity to defend them. In that situation its everyone for themselves but it's thier fault.

Thanks everyone for the great insights. We know that the SA is what activates our response. Depending on the situation and what we are carrying illisits the response. In our situation we are both very familiar with dealing with angry irrational people. I am afraid a bad guy will just p/o my wife and then he will have to deal with her wrath. This is not meant to be funny she is not a creampuff by an means. Knowing your environment has kept us out of trouble many times..

She hides/runs with the kid, while I kill all the bad guys. She has to stay nearby for a dramatic kiss after I blow the smoke from the barrel.
