If parents give up their power, they do it of their own accord, through ignorance, laziness, or other problems.

Yea being 22 I am constantly around idiots doing stupid things, just like everyone else my age has said. Though being married and having a baby does make you grow up fast.

And I am living proof that this does work, I was raised this way and it seems to be working pretty well so far on the other side of parenting.

25 over here. Getting the CHL kind of forced me to rethink who i hang out with, what activities i participate in (drinking, partying, etc- all which i have reduced significantly or eliminated) and be more aware of life in general.

That should be easy. When her friends are around, you start talking. Dads always know embarrassing things about their daughters. :evil2:

My age is, at this time, 58yrs. But I have been carrying a weapon since I was 12, and in Texas for the last 10 years.

I'm smack dab in the middle of the 20's category. I had always wanted to get a CHL, partially due to my Texas pride and my ability to do such. And then Nobama came along, and I knew it was shoot or get off the pot time, so I got mine with four buddies. That hack of a president has done wonders for the gun industry in this economy, and frankly made AR-15's one of the most sound investments.

And as for odds, I'm a Murphy's law believer. It's that one time you want everything to go smoothly, that it doesn't (see Luby's massacre, Killeen, Virginia Tech, UT Tower Shootings, etc).

I'm 32 now and got mine when I was 21.

BTW: Should have added an "under 21" group for some military personal. My girlfriend is currently 20 (in the military) and just submitted all the paperwork for hers. :txflag:

I'll be 30 tomorrow, and my plastic came in yesterday. I've been talking about getting my CHL for years, but just never got around to it. I finally decided, after seeing a flyer for a class on another board, to go ahead and do it. I'm glad I did.
